"My interest in painting began in elementary school: I loved the texture of the paints, the varying and vibrant colors, and the challenge of mark-making. I would have continued painting, but other demands intervened like academics, piano, bassoon, and golf lessons. After graduating from Mount Holyoke College and Clark University, I earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from Boston College and established a 20-year practice in Portland, Maine. All the while, the painting urge lay dormant until I registered for a Continuing Studies class at Maine College of Art in 2005 where I revived my art passion."
